“March 2012 – Late Winter Hush.”

Acrylic on Paper, 30.5” x 42”

From the very beginning I knew this painting…I recognized it. I can even remember the exact moment where it’s inspiration came from. I didn’t try to paint that spot where I was so inspired…but it certainly echoed in my mind’s eye as I shaped this “fictional” landscape.

(I actually finished this back in March but for some reason never got around to posting it until now.)

Sometimes a painting isn’t finished, even when it’s “done”. Here is an example that was supposedly completed back in 2007. It was then revisited in 2010 and now real-finished in 2012! Really..it’s done!

Now, don’t get me wrong…I enjoyed the painting in it’s original incarnation, though perhaps more now as I am able to come at it from a different perspective. But I wasn’t completely satisfied and it  never sat right with me. I starting reworking it in 2010 with the intention that I wouldn’t completely change it and I am happy with the result since returning to that effort this last week.

(And I will have 2 NEW pieces to show soon…stay tuned!)
