Sometimes (often) the seasons strike too quickly, move too fast. Sometimes life is too full of other distractions…moods and feelings…and unexpected disruptions. Where this painting ended is so far from where it began…reflecting so many things and very little at all. From clear and simple… to complicated and impossible. Light and Dark. Hope and Doom. Loss and Gain.

I fought and despaired a lot with this painting; I was in the middle of a long recovery from surgery and not feeling myself at all. I’m quite amazed with this piece to be honest…that I was able to finish it and that it turned out so well. It was around Halloween when I first saw some hope in what had been mostly struggle and dismay…and some time after that when it really began to come together.
