And Now We’re Here

And Now We’re Here

Caught up to the present day, for the present…

“Pandemic Painting” began in early 2020 and wasn’t finished until 4 years later.

“Summer Sequel” was a commission …a sequel to a previous painting that had been purchased. The largest canvas I’ve ever worked on!

“Post Sunset Blooming”...something I started last spring, was then set off to the side and then transformed by late winter skies as the last light of the day begins to fade.

Going Back to Go Forward

Going Back to Go Forward

Well! It’s been quite awhile and I apologize for the lack of updates. The painting never really stopped but it did slow down…shift…and the larger works on canvas ended up set off to the side.

Part of it was falling behind documenting the work that was there. When things start to pile up, when there are frustrations with the process and other distractions in life…it ALL just gets set aside. Motivation falls with lack of energy and enjoyment. Snowball effect.

These four paintings wrap up the pre-pandemic shift. The last one technically wasn’t finished until some point in 2020 but really belongs to that August of 2019.

I did continue to paint after that, smaller scale works on paper, many turned into gift cards for people. A way to explore a different (older) way of working, while getting into new types of acrylic paints. I will likely post those in a separate gallery at some point.

My next post will take us into my current work over the last year and complete the update. Then…onward with new and certain momentum!
