“City Lines and Winter Spaces…”

…where the Deep echoes in year’s end; over hill and valley and the snowy bends of prairie grasses, glass towers and black roads.
This painting took over 3 months to finish. It developed really quickly and then got miserably stuck. What you see now is the product of many major changes and layers and attempts to get it just “right”…even if I was never quite sure what that was supposed to be…
I must be completely satisfied…I must be content with every small area….I must work the painting past the point of boredom and find something new. There is no “good enough”. These paintings can only find fulfillment in a proper resolution. And sometimes that means many, many changes and seemingly endless revisions.
