Catching Up Again (Skipping Past Winter)
Catching Up Again (Last from 2016)
Catching Up – Part Four
2004 – August 25th, 2016
This one is for my cat Kalli. My friend and companion. I’ve never had to make the choice to end the life of someone I loved before. To feel her die while I held her head in my hand…it’s something I will never forget.
I miss you.

Catching Up – Part Three
“Soft goes gold, brown.
New green. New plans.
New things and happenings.”
Oh the flush. The rapid transition of sap greens – new grass and leaves. It makes me anxious…excited…sometimes apprehensive. It reveals and exposes; urges and pressures. So much change, so much expected. All the new life.

Catching Up – Part Two
Winter 2016 – Arch, Ice, Glow
“In the low-light my eyes find sparks and traces.
All swimming about. All giving a shout.
Images shifting off one onto the other.
All glow. All vibrate. All within and without.
All calm and graces.”
To the disbelief of many, winter is a season I really quite enjoy – especially December when the light is low and often glows along the horizon. I like the dark. I like the cold. I love the feeling of early sunsets at the height of the year. And I love the chinook arches…the deep feelings and broad expanses.
