Winter 2016 – Arch, Ice, Glow
“In the low-light my eyes find sparks and traces.
All swimming about. All giving a shout.
Images shifting off one onto the other.
All glow. All vibrate. All within and without.
All calm and graces.”
To the disbelief of many, winter is a season I really quite enjoy – especially December when the light is low and often glows along the horizon. I like the dark. I like the cold. I love the feeling of early sunsets at the height of the year. And I love the chinook arches…the deep feelings and broad expanses.

Late Autumn 2015 – Full of Spaces & Deeper Things
All the yellow that bursts and pops until it’s all golden brown. Deep blues going pale. Deep things being felt in even deeper spaces…all stretching out across the land.

Afterword
It has been a challenging year since my last work was posted but as always, painting was there…paintings were made; found and danced with, yelled at and rejoiced in. With each piece I finished, the task of documenting and posting piled up….and then I decided to redo the whole site. So. Needless to say, I’m very pleased and relieved to have this current entry up and, more or less, completed. To put them altogether into one “super post” seemed both appropriate and necessary; I really would rather be making (and dancing) than sitting at the computer. And ONE in this case, as a concept and a to-do-list, was much more palatable than FOUR. It also brings me a lot of delight to see these works come together and express a year in seasons. I love that process of change…of contrast…of four worlds that feel very differently but reflect the whole of experience and move life forward.

New name, new domain, new website. In time I will post all the work that I’ve finished since my last entry back in October; and of course there will be more changes to come as I continue to work on things.
Thanks for visiting!

“July to September 2014 – All the Resonance.”
Acrylic on Canvas, 30” x 40”

This painting took place over the summer and encompasses a range of experience. From the deepest and most exotic green of early summer, with all it’s heady exaltation…to the crackling and fragrant tarnish of mid to late summer’s golden grasses and electric flowers. And then even through the crippling snow which dragged flagging summer on to waiting autumn.
It’s rain. It’s heat. It’s the buzz and beat of resonance and change.
